Presentation Highlights:
How does the FRAMES database help companies navigate the balance between sustainability trends and cleaning efficacy in product development?
The FRAMES database enables companies to analyse market formulations and gain insights into the formulation and sustainability choices made by competitors and other industry players. By examining both ingredient selection and levels, product developers can leverage this valuable data to enhance their formulation strategies.
With regulatory shifts pushing for greener formulations, are you seeing a real, fundamental shift in ingredient strategies, or is much of the market still tweaking at the margins? Where is the industry lagging behind?
By monitoring Home Care formulations twice a year, we observe a rapid acceleration in formulation changes compared to the past. Major transformations are taking place, including the shift from fossil-based to plant-based and fermentation-derived materials. However, the industry faces challenges to meet the growing need for cost effective and sustainable ingredients.
You're presenting alongside Barbara Dücker from Novonesis. How does this collaboration bring a unique perspective to your product comparison study?
This collaboration is about connecting Cleaning Performance (Novonesis) to the market Formulations that are compiled from the FRAMES database. The unique perspective comes from the ability to analyse a range of performance data in the light of formulation differences. This allows building consistent and reliable correlations which provides a competitive advantage in the market place.
You’ve attended Cleaning Products Europe for years. What industry conversations do you expect will dominate this year’s event, and how do you see them shaping the future of product development?
I expect a high interest in conversations about how to reach sustainability targets at sufficient performance and affordable cost. So far, most consumers are reluctant to pay more for green products and/or accept lower performance. I also expect conversations to continue about how to quantify sustainability of cleaning products and how to balance tactics around new - plant and fermentation based - materials and the recycling of known materials. These discussions will shape the future of product development the coming years.
As a regular speaker at Cleaning Products Europe, what unique insights or networking opportunities do you believe attendees can gain from this year's conference?
The Home Care industry is in the midst of a transition to more sustainable cleaning products. This year’s conference has a wide representation of Industry partners and attendees can gain from the exchange of ideas and approaches.
