  • Heather Barker

    Global VP Regulatory, Hygiene/Home Reckitt Benckiser

    Heather serves as the Global VP of Regulatory for Hygiene and Home at RB, covering brands like Lysol, Harpic, Finish, Vanish and Airwick.  Prior to this, Heather was the Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs where she developed the regulatory strategy for projects across all phases and directed the activities of a team of regulatory professionals.  In that role, Heather represented company interests with local government agencies, industry associations and other organizations to influence legislation, regulations and/or guidelines that impact the Canadian business, and managed the protection and promotion of RB business, brands and initiatives.

    Prior to this, Heather served as the Government Relations Manager for S.C. Johnson & Son, ltd. Where she was the key external ambassador and representative for the company.

    Heather currently serves on the Board of Directors for A.I.S.E. (International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance) and had previous roles as Vice Chair for the Consumer Health Products of Canada Strategies Committee; Vice Chair of the Consumer Health Products of Canada Drug Scheduling Task Force and a Member of both the Ontario Chamber of Commerce Working Group on Waste Reform and the Network of Executive Women Mentoring Committee.

    Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry with a Minor in Nutritional Science and a Masters degree in Toxicology.

  • Ian Bell

    Head of Home Care, Tissue & Hygiene Research Euromonitor International

    Ian Bell manages the research programme for the global home care industry at Euromonitor International, which he joined in February 2001. In his current post, Ian has direct responsibility over the content and quality of Euromonitor's Home Care research, which provides strategic analysis of the global market as well as in-depth coverage of 80 countries worldwide. Ian is also responsible for working with the international Home Care client base of Euromonitor's online database Passport.

    Before joining the global research team at Euromonitor International, Ian worked initially as a Japanese FMCG Research Analyst and then as Research Manager overseeing FMCG market research for Northern Europe, including the UK, Germany and Russia. 
    Ian has a degree in Japanese Studies (BSC) from the University of Sheffield, and has also studied at Nagoya University.

  • Rebecca Blell

    Senior Scientist Borregaard

    Rebecca is a Senior Scientist at the R&D center at Borregaard. I focus on the technical and market development, understanding and use of the Exilva products in Personal Care, Home Care and Agrochemical applications.

    Born and raised in Sierra Leone. Studied in Strasbourg France at the ECPM for the engineering degree then at the Institut Charles Sadron for my Doctorate. Moved to Norway in 2014 to work with Exilva at Borregaard.

  • Prof. Dr. Dirk Bockmühl

    Hygiene and Microbiology Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences

    Dirk Bockmühl studied Biology in Düsseldorf an obtained his PhD in Microbiology on the molecular pathogenicity of Candida albicans.

    From 2001-2010 he worked in the consumer goods industry, where he was responsible for numerous microbiological projects for cosmetics and the laundry and home care sector.

    In 2010 he changed to the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kleve, Germany, as a professor for hygiene and microbiology.

    From 2011-2013 he was also dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences. His research interest is in domestic hygiene, especially in the development of consumer related test methods for laundry and cleaning, and in the research on microbial communities in the domestic setting.

    Prof. Bockmühl is a member of the scientific advisory board of the Sepawa, a board member of the division "Chemistry of Laundering" in the German Chemical Society (GDCh) and member of the Expert Advisory panel of the International Forum on Home Hygiene (IFH).

    Head of Endorsements Allergy UK

    Leigh has worked at Allergy UK for over twelve years and she manages the product endorsement programme for the charity across a number of product sectors, with a global reach. She works with some of the UK’s leading dermatologists and toxicologists regarding product ingredients and their impact on people who live with allergic disease.

    Over the last two years Leigh has helped to establish Allergy UK’s position in the indoor and outdoor air pollution debate from the perspective of the impact of poor air quality on people with allergic disease.

    She has represented Allergy UK at a number of events and conferences on the topic, to create awareness of how products can affect your indoor air quality and your health and wellbeing.

    Global Application Leader Home & Personal Care DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences

    Based in Leiden, The Netherlands, Arjen joined DuPont in 2012 as a technical sales manager for the Home and Personal Care (HPC) business in EMEA. Educated as a chemical engineer with a PhD from Delft University of Technology he brings 20 years of experience in various R&D and management roles in the detergent and coatings industry. In his current role, Arjen is responsible for leading DuPont’s Global HPC Application team for enzymes and microbial control. The team comprises a diverse group of technical experts and develops customer solutions for various market segments such as laundry, dish, textiles processing, industrial markets and personal care.

  • Filip Hoffmann-Häußler

    Senior Research Analyst – Home & Tech / Project Lead – Home Care Euromonitor International

    Filip has a background in business psychology and has started to specialize in home care as the industry project lead and as Consultant for home and technology industries at Euromonitor.

    He provides analysis on trends and developments, with special emphasis on broader consumer trends and areas where home care overlaps with other industries.

    Global Technical Marketing Manager – Cleaning Nouryon

    Stuart has been working at Nouryon for over 15 years, and currently leads the global technical marketing efforts for the cleaning segment, which includes specialty surfactants and water soluble polymer products. Stuart has a Chemistry background from Imperial College, London, and has developed a varied career in technical, innovation, sales and marketing roles across a variety of indsutries, with a keen focus throughout in the development of sustainable and low toxicity chemistry. 

  • Mark Jankovich

    CEO Delphis Eco

    Mark Jankovich started his career in finance and for a large part of the 15 years worked at Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and latterly Coutts & Co. Prior to seeing sense he headed up Coutts’s Ultra High Net-Worth team, set up their Charity & Philanthropy department and ran the banks Investment Sales function.

    Realising the environment needed help he chucked in his job and founded Delphis Eco in 2008.  His challenge was how could he have the biggest possible positive impact and discovered the cleaning chemical industry was stuck in the past and not only poisoning the environment but also the cleaners that used them.

    Some of Delphis Eco’s miles stones are that they have been awarded royal warrants from both HM The Queen and The Prince of Wales. Were the first to achieve EU EcoLabel (Defra) accreditation, voted best EcoLabel accredited business by the EU in 2013, won numerous best in class product awards and are a certified B Corporation. It is the only company chosen to represent the Green Economy in the Governments GREAT Campaign and is a Commonwealth Export Champion. They have also pioneered the UK’s first 100% recycled plastic bottle made entirely from post use single-use plastic.

    Mark sits on the Governments SME Advisory Panel assisting the Treasury to increase its spend with SME’s. He also sits on the council of the Royal Warrant Holders Association and with the RWHA set up Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership’s first scholarship programme for their masters course.

    Céline Janvier is graduated in agronomy and microbiology (PhD). She has more than 10 years of experience in chemicals regulations (Plant Protection Products and Biocides). After working in an applied research institute, she joined Staphyt in 2012. Within Staphyt Regulatory, Céline Janvier is Regulatory Expert for all the questions regarding biocides. She is also Project Manager for biocidal product dossiers, and senior expert in charge of Efficacy for the BPR dossiers.

    Angello is a native Australian of Greek origin. A true global citizen who grew up in Sydney, Angello has lived in London, Singapore, Amsterdam, New York and now in Paris. 

    After graduating from the University of NSW in Economics and Media Communcication, he commenced his career in advertising.     With 13 years expertise in the market of Home & Personal Care and Biocides Esther is a strong contributor to new technology development. 

    Esther holds a MSc degree in Applied Life Sciences of HAN University in Nijmegen and a BSc degree in Histopathology of Avans Hogeschool Breda.

  • Dr. Neil Lant

    Research Fellow, Fabric & Home Care R&D Procter & Gamble

    Dr Neil Lant is a Research Fellow based at Procter & Gamble’s Newcastle Innovation Center in the U.K.

    He is the company’s senior technologist in global enzyme R&D and leads the company’s textile sustainability research program with a focus on clothing longevity and microfiber release.

    Neil holds a first class honours degree in chemistry and PhD in bioorganic chemistry, both from the University of Glasgow. Since joining P&G in 1997, he has been involved in the development of new fabric and home care technology and products for all regions of the world, involving over 150 patent applications, several scientific papers and trademarks.

  • Peter Littleton

    Technical Director Christeyns Food Hygiene

    Peter Littleton is Technical Director for Europe’s only family owned multi-national supplier of specialist detergents and disinfectants for the food, beverage and diary industries – Christeyns Food Hygiene Ltd. 

    In this position, Peter’s enthusiasm and commitment has led to an engagement with industry, enforcement and special interest groups to address the issue of consumer safety with regard to the management of food safety and hygiene within food, beverage and dairy manufacturing / processing operations.

    During his 30 year career involved with the food industry, Peter has worked in the canning, poultry and ready to eat salad sectors in a variety of technical, hygiene and production based roles as well as serving as Senior Food Safety Officer for an environmental health food safety department where he was involved in drafting some of the food legislation in force today.  This involvement with the enforcement community has continued with Christeyns Food Hygiene’s involvement in the Food Standards Agency and the Advisory Committee for Microbiological Safety of Food.

    A key thread throughout Peter’s career has been the development of training and awareness programs for all levels of hygiene and technical operations in the food industry which culminated in the first nationally accredited course for hygiene management.  Peter has continued to develop specialist training in the area of food safety, hygiene and management with courses specifically tailored to the needs of the modern food and drink industries.  An international speaker at food safety conferences across Europe on all aspects of food safety and the vital role that cleaning & disinfection plays in protecting consumer health and product quality / integrity.  His practical and approachable manner engages audiences and ensures an understanding of the subject at hand whether microbiological, chemical, allergenic, speciation or physical contamination of food.

    Peter works extensively with special interest groups, such as the Anaphylaxis Campaign, research organisations, universities and retailers as well as chairing the Processing, Operations and Preservation Member Interest Group at Campden BRI. He was awarded the Society of Food Hygiene Technology’s Trainer of the Year Award in 2011.

  • Ms. Paola Migliorini

    Deputy Head of Unit B 1 - Sustainable Production, Products & Consumption DG Environment, European Commission

    Paola Migliorini, Deputy Head of Unit at the European Commission, Directorate General Environment, has been working on eco-innovation and circular economy policies since 2012.

    As team leader on Circular Economy she has coordinated the policy development and the implementation of the Circular Economy Action Plan adopted by the European Commission in December 2015.

    Presently, her main areas of responsibility include policies on Circular Economy, EU Ecolabel, Ecodesign and Energy labelling, EMAS and Textiles. She has both the experience of the European institutions, which includes funding opportunities for environmental protection, and of the private sector, namely the multinational health industry.

    Her motto: "explain, listen and make it happen".

  • Sascha Nissen

    Head of Sustainability A.I.S.E., Belgium

    Sascha Nissen, Head of Sustainability, A.I.S.E. Since 2005, Sascha Nissen has been working with A.I.S.E., the international Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products in Brussels. He is mainly involved in the development and implementation of A.I.S.E.’s strategy on Sustainable Development, covering a wide range of initiatives for the industry sector in Europe; these include the ‘A.I.S.E. Charter for Sustainable Cleaning’ and other industry voluntary schemes such as on social responsibility and the circular economy with activities linked to plastic packaging and bio-based materials. He also coordinated A.I.S.E.’s Product Environmental Footprint detergents pilot, a project in the context of the EU Environmental Footprint initiative.

    Sascha studied Political Science at the University in Bonn, Germany, and was working in parallel in the German Parliament as Parliamentary Assistant. After his graduation as Magister Artium, M.A., he worked as Consultant for Public Relations and Public Affairs firms in Germany and Brussels.

    Sascha has been a speaker at numerous international symposia and congresses across Europe.




  • Dr. Yash Parulekar

    Global Product Strategy and Stewardship MonoSol, LLC, a Kuraray Division

    Dr. Yash Parulekar is the global lead on product strategy and stewardship at MonoSol. Yash in his role as product steward for MonoSol’s entire product portfolio of water-soluble, biodegradable films oversees product strategy, product line management, technical reputation management, sustainability, and social responsibility.

    Yash has been with MonoSol since 2011 in various roles in technical marketing and business strategy development. His expertise areas include bio-based materials, water-soluble polymers, unit-dose detergents, and

    packaging and has to his name multiple patents and peer-reviewed publications. Prior to MonoSol, Yash worked in technical roles at Encapsys and Appleton Performance Packaging both in Wisconsin.

    Yash serves on technical, regulatory, and sustainability committees and task-forces at the American Cleaning Institute in the US and at the European detergent Industry association (AISE). Yash is also on the advisory board for packaging at Cal Poly University’s Orfalea College of Business.

    Yash graduated from the University of Pune in India with a degree in Polymer Engineering followed by graduate work at Clemson (M.S. Materials Science and Engineering) and Michigan State University (Ph. D. Packaging Science). Yash and his wife Aishwarya have 2 young pre-teen children and they all enjoy traveling and martial arts together as a family.

  • Pauline Raffaitin

    Homecare and Personal Care Business Unit Manager ECOCERT

    After her studies in chemistry and agro-chemistry, Pauline Raffaitin has completed a PhD on environmental impacts of waste management in collaboration with the French Environment Agency (ADEME).

    She integrated the ECOCERT Group in 2008 to work on the certification of natural and organic cosmetics. Since more than 10 years, she has developed a solid expertise on natural and organic market.

    She is now at the head of home and personal care business unit for the ECOCERT Group to develop these two sectors of activities worldwide.

  • Ryan McDonald

    Applications Scientist Croda

    Ryan McDonald is an Applications Scientist in Croda’s Home Care team, responsible for new product development and providing technical support for European customers. He received a BSc Hons from the University of Hull and has supported customers across laundry, hard surface and dish wash applications for the last 8 years.


  • Lisa Sligting

    Sustainability Manager the Dutch Association for Detergents, Maintenance Products and Disinfectants (NVZ)

    Lisa Sligting studied chemistry with a Masters in Science, Business and Innovation. Since five years she is working for the chemical industry where she has a focus on packaging and other sustainability related topics.

  • Dr. Mark Stalmans

    Global Product Stewardship & Sustainability Procter & Gamble

    Dr. Mark Stalmans obtained a Ph.D. in Colloidal and Interphase Chemistry in 1986 (Leuven University, Belgium). He joined Procter & Gamble in 1987 and has managed global and regional safety, regulatory, lifecycle analysis and sustainability programs for household and professional product categories.

    Since 2013, he is manager Global Product Stewardship & Sustainability for the Global Fabric & Home Care Business Unit where he coordinates P&G’s internal and stakeholder programmes around sustainability and innovation. He is an active member of the A.I.S.E. and CEFIC industry association networks and supports safety and sustainability initiatives such as A.I.S.E. Charter for Sustainable Cleaning,, ‘I prefer 30°’ ( and the CEFIC Sustainability Programme Council.

  • Lene Stiil

    CEO & Co-Founder AllergyCertified, Denmark

    There is one focus in the worklife for Lene Stiil: make it possible for consumers to choose skin friendly no matter where you live. She founded international labelling organization AllergyCertified at the end of 2014. Before doing so she was a vivid fulltime beekeeper and before that she worked in the Danish Parliament. She has a background from communications at Aalborg University, Denmark.

  • Dr. Inke Van Der Sluijs

    Head of European Operations Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)

    Inke is the Head of European Operations of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). In her role, she advises companies on RSPO membership, certification, sustainable sourcing, and RSPO claims. Further, she works with the supply chain accredited certification bodies and the National Initiatives on sustainable palm oil in Europe as well as other relevant key stakeholders like NGOs and financial institutions. Trade and more general media engagement is also crucial to the growth of the RSPO.

    She enjoys the collaboration with all players to achieve full market transformation. Her previous position was at the Dutch Product Board for Margarine, Fats and Oils (MVO), where she worked as a policy advisor on sustainable development. Inke received her PhD in biology and worked in ecology, conservation, and sustainability projects.
